Classes:

Aikido: Aikido is a modern martial art that developed from Japanese jujutsu. It is comprised of defensive techniques designed to redirect the energy of an attack. The correct execution of Aikido and jujutsu techniques does not require strength or speed, but relies on distance, timing, leverage, and most importantly, the flexibility to adapt to each situation while blending with and redirecting an attacker's energy. Yoseikan Aikido differs from most modern Aikido in that it retains the martial effectiveness of the pre-war Aikijujutsu that Ueshiba taught enhanced with elements of Judo, Karate, and Sutemi (sacrifice throws) a hallmark of the Yoseikan System. Classes are open to students age 16 and up.

Judo: Like Aikido, Judo also evolved from Japanese jujutsu. While Judo is best known for it's spectacular throwing techniques it also involves considerable grappling, pins, joint locks and chokes. We strongly encourage students to develop in a balanced and complete way and discourage focusing on only the sporting aspect of Judo. Jr. Judo classes are open to students age 5 to 15, while Sr. Judo classes are limited to students age 16 and up.

Kenjutsu: Kenjutsu is the art of the Japanese sword. In this class students will learn the fundamentals of Japanese swordmanship and work on basic movements and kata.

Brazilian Jujitsu ( BJJ ): Brazilian Jujitsu is the foundation of grappling training in mixed martial arts (MMA). With an emphasis on control and submissions it provides an excellent set of tactical skills for self-defense on the ground. It also provides additional conditioning, technique training, and matwork for judo players wanting to complement their throwing skills.
